Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for nursing functions, providing patient care, and performing limited medical obstetrical ultrasounds at Prestonwood Pregnancy Center – Richardson (“PPC”).
Responsibilities:
- Work with clinic staff and volunteers to coordinate patient flow
- Perform limited medical screening and pregnancy tests
- Perform limited obstetrical ultrasounds accordance with standing delegated orders
- Complete initial patient assessments
- Assist with patient/family education and instruct patients as directed
- Maintain patient documentation according to clinic protocol
- Document and report test results
- Assist with follow up of patient's medical conditions and test results
- Collect and run lab tests
- Incorporate principals of safety in all clinical operations
- Demonstrate safe use of equipment related to patient care
- Maintain infection control measures with all patient contact
- Other duties as assigned
Requirement
Requirements:
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching ministry
- Pro-life in word and pro-love in action
- Possess and maintain current RN license
- Possess or be willing to obtain sonography training
- Comply with state and professional licensing and continuing education requirements
- Excellent communication skills, bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
- High level of confidentiality
- Experience working with volunteers a plus
- Commitment to continued professional development especially in the areas of obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health issues
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office products
- Availability to work at least 2 evenings per week and every other Saturday
- Possess current driver license, personal vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for clearance to drive PPC mobile unit as needed
- Willingness to serve at other PPC locations as needed
- Current Texas Driver License and clean MVR record
- Ability to operate the mobile sonogram unit and cover shifts at the Southwest location as needed
- Able to perform physical activities that require moving one’s whole body, such as walking, stooping, lifting, pushing/pulling a cart, and use of stairs, and ability to lift up to 10 lbs. without assistance
